Jilda M. Greenslit

Jilda May Greenslit, 81, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin where she has resided for the past few years. Born in Warren, she was the daughter of the late Marsena and Ruth (Varney) Greenslit.
Jilda grew up in Warren and as a young woman she enjoyed her time as a caregiver for the many young children in her extended family. She is remembered as someone who would take family and local kids to the swimming hole on hot summer days. She worked at the Sugarbush Ski Resort in Warren, the Mcdonalds restaurant in Middlebury and later worked for the Pitcher Inn in Warren. She lived in Salisbury for several years, returning to Warren to live with her mother Ruth until her death in 2008, she then moved to Evergreen Place in Waitsfield. She enjoyed her time at Evergreen Place and was an active member of the senior community there.
She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. In her leisure time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, wordsearch, playing BINGO and playing cards. Spending time with her large family gave her great joy.
Jilda is survived by her two sisters, Marilyn Miller, of Warren, Marcella Pierce and her husband, William, of Bradenton FL: her brother Allen Greenslit and his wife, Sherry, of Waitsfield; as well as nieces and nephews and extended family. She is predeceased by a brother Ervin "Buster" Greenslit and a sister Julia " Judy" Ryan.
