Timothy Totten Obituary

Timothy "Tim" Charles Totten (9/15/1963 – 8/21/2025)

Tim Totten passed away at his home in Winooski, Vermont, on August 21, 2025, after a long 17-year journey with a Traumatic Brain Injury, but deep down that did not stop him from being who he was, a hardworking, helping hand.

Tim was born on September 15, 1963, in St. Albans, VT. He was the son of Richard and Sheila (Peters) Totten.

He started out in farming at the Bryce's farm, did agriculture in high school, and graduated from BFA in 1981. Tim met Heather on June Dairy Day weekend in Enosburg in 1980. They were high school sweethearts and were together for 30 years, got married on November 5, 1983, and sadly divorced in 2010.

Tim had enlisted in the United States Air Force and became an aerospace ground equipment mechanic and earned the rank of Sergeant. From there, he had many tours and was stationed in many bases, Texas, Guam, and New Jersey. He had several temporary duty assignments, such as Australia, and England as well. He was honorably discharged in 1991 and finished his military duty in the Vermont Air National Guard. After he got out, he had several jobs and worked at the Gervais Family Farm for several years, along with being a self-employed carpenter.

Everyone who knew Tim, knew his outgoing, happy personality. He enjoyed life, with a big laugh and a cigarette hanging from his mouth. He loved snowmobiling with his Yamaha and four wheeling with his friends. He dabbled in playing drums in a band, and loved watching NASCAR on Sundays.

Tim was full of life, he was an all-around handy man, you would want him in your corner if you wanted a small or big job done, as he gave a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He is survived by his two daughters, Chelsea Longe, husband Tim Longe Jr. and grandchildren Carter and Collin Longe of Enosburg and Emily Fortin and husband Brian Fortin of Highgate; His mother Sheila Totten of St. Albans, and several brothers and sisters, brother Richard (Duff) and wife Pam Totten of Huntington, sister Heidi and husband Ken Patnaude of Milton, brother Peter and wife Vicki Totten of St. Albans, sister Hayley and spouse Bobby Sochia of St. Albans, and brother Darren Totten. He is predeceased by his father Richard Totten.

We find comfort in knowing he is at peace. The family will have a private celebration of life that will be held at a later date.
