Jill Leslie Aldrich Grover was born on October 20, 1951 to Leslie H. “Mike” and Doris E. Clark Aldrich in Syracuse, New York and passed away September 28, 2025. She graduated from Dryden High School in 1969 and began a career of more than 37 years at NYSEG, retiring in 2006. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Pennsylvania, Black Lake, NY and New York City. She married Fay C. Grover on August 14, 1971 and together they provided a home for several cats and dogs.
Jill is survived by her husband of 54 years, Fay; and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, several cousins, and sisters in law, Susan Allen and Sharron Buck and former brother-in-law, Jack Potter. She was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, brother, Robert L. Aldrich, sisters, Sylvia M. LeMons-Liddle (Dallas) and Mary Lou Aldrich; niece, Lori L. LeMons; sister in law, Dawn Aldrich; several aunts, uncles and cousins including a special distant cousin, Charles Aldrich. She was also predeceased by her in laws, Robert S. and Gladys Chrissey Grover, Irv Allen, Warren Buck, and Robert C. Grover and many beloved pets.
Services will be held at Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, NY on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 with one hour of calling from 12-1 pm followed by a funeral service at 1 pm. Burial will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, NY. In lieu of flowers, because of Jill’s love of animals, please contribute to Tompkins County SPCA, 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850 or your local food pantry. Online condolences at www.perkinsfh.com
