Eunice Hotelling Crumb was called home to Heaven in the early morning of Wednesday, September 24 th , 2025. Born Eunice Vivian Hotelling to Kenneth and Flossie Hotelling on September 27 th , 1930, she spent her last days celebrating her 95 th year on Earth. In 1949, Eunice married her husband of 64 years, Paul F. Crumb, and the two went on to build a big, beautiful life together in Brooktondale, New York and, later, Ocala, Florida. Among those awaiting her arrival at the Gates of Heaven were her loving husband, Paul Franklin Crumb, her parents, Kenneth & Flossy Hotelling, her son, Paul Franklin Crumb II, and three of her brothers, Eugene, Kenneth & Russell Hotelling. She leaves behind three of her beloved children- Sandra Joye Crumb Holmes, Barbara Jean Crumb Edeker, & Russell David (Joy) Crumb, as well as her brother, Lawrence Hotelling of Ithaca, NY and a daughter-in-law, Linda Crumb of Brooktondale. The legacy that she and her husband built is proudly carried on by their 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren- many of whom Eunice had the pleasure of capturing a 5 generation photograph with.

Eunice was full of spirit and she radiated vitality into to every corner of her life. Whether it was tending to her magnificent flower gardens or spending quality time with her many lifelong friends or family, everything breathed new life into everything that she touched. She was a dedicated woman, not just to her family but in all aspects. She was a proud graduate of the Ithaca High School class of 1948 and a 30 year employee of the N.Y Telephone Co. She volunteered for the American Legion Auxiliary for 40 years and was an active member of her communities in both Brooktondale and Ocala. Eunice was a seasoned traveler and enjoyed taking trips even well into her nineties. She was also a collector and has collected over 100 cookie jars over the years. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and she valued every minute of time spent with her beautiful family. She enjoyed baking with her daughters, casino trips with her son, playing cards and Yahtzee with her grandchildren, and rocking the newest additions to the family until her last days. She never missed a moment, big or small, sending a card, leaving a message, creating a piece of art or making a trip to show her support always. She was a woman of God, and she met the end of her life with grace and praise for Him, singing “Jesus Loves Me” with her children before she left. Her faith, commitment, strength, and love were the pillars upon which her 95 years of life were lived, and they will continue to illuminate the lives and hearts of many in her absence.

A private graveside service will be held in the coming weeks to lay Eunice to eternal rest beside her husband, overlooking the town where they raised their children and which called home for many happy years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made the Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 25, Brooktondale, NY 14817.
