Jill Marie Mindek (née Mather), 61, of Storrs, CT, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at St. Mary’s Home in West Hartford. Born on February 23, 1964, in Willington, CT, Jill was the beloved daughter of Ray and the late Elaine Mather. She grew up surrounded by a large and loving family and attended Hall Memorial School before graduating from Windham High School. Jill began her professional life at Liberty Bank, where she brought warmth and dedication to her work. Later, she found fulfillment serving as an assistant in the Mansfield Public Schools, where her caring nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on colleagues and students alike. A devoted Catholic, Jill was a faithful member of St. Philip's Church in Ashford, CT, as well as a choir member of St. Matthew’s Church in Tolland. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life and a source of strength for those around her. Jill cherished time with her family above all else. She leaves behind her loving husband, David Mindek, and their daughter Karlie Mindek, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her father Ray Mather; sisters Sharon Chute and Raelene Pilon (and husband Mike); brothers Wayne Mather (and partner Darlene), Scott Mather (and wife Judy), Jeffrey Mather, and Todd Mather (and wife Maggie) and several beloved nieces and nephews. Family gatherings were especially meaningful to Jill. She delighted in every opportunity to spend time with loved ones and particularly enjoyed camping trips to Pt. Judith, Rhode Island - moments that brought joy and created treasured memories. Jill will be remembered as a beautiful and caring person who was always quick to lend a hand to those in need. Her deep love for family and unwavering generosity touched many lives.
Jill’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Philip's Church in Ashford, CT, with burial to follow at Willington Hill Cemetery.
