Evelyne Amelia Parizek passed away peacefully at her lifelong home in Willington, CT on November 7, 2025. Evelyne was born on October 10, 1929 in Stafford Springs, CT. She had recently celebrated her ninety-sixth birthday. Evelyne was the devoted and loving eldest sister to Harriette, Ralph, and Richard, and an aunt, cousin, and friend to many. She will be forever remembered for her deep dedication and generosity to her family and the kindness that she showed to everyone she touched in a life so well-lived.
Evelyne was a graduate of Hall Memorial School and Windham High School. She earned her B.A. degree from Syracuse University in 1950, then attended two years at Hartford Law School. Always known for her strong business sense and creativity, Evelyne owned and operated the Glamour Shoppe in Rockville, CT for many years, noted for fine clothing for women and children. Respected by business associates, she served as treasurer and secretary of the Rockville Chamber of Commerce, then was elected as their first female president, a role she held until 1974. She later joined the family business, Parizek Realty, until her retirement. It was a career that fostered a deep sense of community and connection.
Evelyne was always an active participant in her community. She extended kindness to family and neighbors by visiting, shopping for them, and driving them to appointments. She served on the Board of Johnson Memorial Hospital for forty-five years. Evelyne's faith was very important to her, and she was a longtime member of the Federated Church of Willington. Evelyne enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially around the holidays. She also enjoyed the nature surrounding her home. She loved to go for long walks around her ponds, often wearing colorful coats and hats, and delighted in caring for her beautiful gardens.
Evelyne was the daughter of the late Ralph and Amelia (née Hipsky) Parizek, the sister of Harriette (the late Kenneth) Donaldson of Oakton, VA, the sister of the late Ralph (the late Carol) Parizek, and sister of Richard (Estelle) Parizek of State College, PA.
"Aunt Evelyne" will be missed by her nieces and nephews: Donald and Maureen Parizek, Jody and Sherri Parizek, Deborah and Jeff Lowman, Beth Waddell, John Donaldson, James and Lynn Donaldson, Katarin Parizek, George and Pam Parizek, Evelyne and Tate Baumrucker, and Byron and Heather Parizek. She also leaves behind her many grandnieces and grandnephews: Skyley, Brian, Chase, Mitchell, Erika, Will, Nadine, Amber, Tyler, Amelia, Kyle, Spencer, Margot, Elise, Zoe, and Elias.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with a procession forming by 10:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Church Service at 11:00 AM at The Federated Church of Willington, 132 River Rd., Willington, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Calling hours are on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Willington Fire Department No. 1, P.O. Box 161, Willington, CT 06279. To leave a condolence online for the family, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
