Obituary published on Legacy.com by G.H. Herrmann Funeral Homes - Madison on Nov. 23, 2025.
We are saddened to announce the passing of Jill Anne (Hall) Radcliffe, 64, of
Indianapolis, IN. Jill was born on September 17, 1961, in Fort Knox, KY., the third of six children of Joe and Margaret (Peg) Hall. Jill passed away after a brief illness on November 21, 2025.
Jill was a nurse, veteran and mother. She graduated valedictorian from Perry Central High School in 1979. In 1982, she received a bachelor's degree in finance from Indiana University in Bloomington, earning a 4.0 GPA. After graduation from IU, Jill enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in counter-intelligence for four years, rising to the rank of sergeant. Her tour of duty included time in Okinawa, Japan, where she met fellow soldier and future husband Tim Radcliffe. Jill also served one year in the Army Reserve.
Jill and Tim were married in Okinawa in 1984 and shortly afterward had a wedding in Leopold, IN., welcoming their son Logan in 1991.
After returning stateside, Jill worked for a time at the National City Bank in Evansville before enrolling at the University of Southern Indiana, graduating in 1990 at the top of her class with an associate degree in nursing.
Jill began her nursing career at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, later working for three decades in various nursing roles at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. She retired in 2022.
Jill was soft-spoken, giving, kind, dedicated to church and family, and she always remembered birthdays and anniversaries, all the words to Christmas carols, who was related to whom and how, and details of family vacations most of us could no longer recall.
She deeply loved her son Logan, her immediate and extended family, her dogs Yella and Nyx, music, cooking, the Indiana State Fair, travel, holiday decorations, the Army, her hometown of Derby, IN., riverboats, the city of Indianapolis, giant Jenga and sports including Hoosier basketball and football, the Olympics, the Indianapolis Colts and the Indiana Fever.
Jill served as a nurse on church overseas mission trips, at church camps for people with disabilities and as a volunteer at Calvary Lutheran Church. She tended to patients through the COVID pandemic before having her own medical challenges. Jill faced those challenges with grace and a firm determination to survive, wearing an Olympic "gold medal" which she proudly wore around her neck.
Jill is survived by her son, Logan Radcliffe of Indianapolis (friend Jackey Edens); fiance Rich Wilson of Indianapolis; father Joe Hall and stepmother Judy Thomas-Hall of Derby, IN.; brothers Andy (Dee) Hall of Fitchburg, WI.; Dan Hall of Bristow and Tell City, IN.; Dave Hall of Springfield, IL.; John Hall of Suwon, South Korea; and sister Nancy Hall of Ferdinand, IN., plus several nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Tim, who remained her best friend until his passing in 2021; her mother Peg Hall of Derby, IN.; grandparents Celeste and Leonard Hall of Derby, IN.; and Blanche and George Anstett of Remington, IN.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at noon at Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 S. Shelby St.,
Indianapolis, IN.
G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran.

Jill loved to sing, especially the Hall family anthem, "Today," as performed by John Denver:
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine,
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away, 'ere I forget all the joy that is mine, today.
I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover, you'll know who I am by the songs that I sing.
I'll feast at your table, I'll sleep in your clover, who cares what tomorrow shall bring?
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine,
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away, 'ere I forget all the joy that is mine, today.
I can't be contented with yesterday's glory, I can't live on promises, winter to spring.
Today is my moment, now is my story, I'll laugh and I'll cry and I'll sing.
Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine,
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away, 'ere I forget all the joy that is mine, today.
