Jim "Poppy" Lynch, 90, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025, in Naples, Florida.
Born on April 26, 1934, in County Meath, Ireland, Jim spent his early years in his beloved homeland before embarking on a new chapter in the United States. In 1959, he settled in New York City, where he built a life filled with hard work and dedication. A skilled general contractor specializing in drywall construction, Jim devoted nearly 40 years to his craft before retiring in 1998. Twenty years ago, he moved from Belle Harbor, NY to Marco Island, Florida, embracing the warmth and beauty of the community.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Anne "Nurse" Lynch; his beloved wife of 46 years, Ellen Leila Lynch (Bresnan); sisters, Monica Milkovits and Mary Lynch and brother, Thomas Lynch. He is survived by his daughters Deirdre Cavanagh (Kevin) and Siobhan Lynch; grandchildren Kevin James Cavanagh (Alison), Kaitlyn Cavanagh, and Zachary Lynch Raddani; great-granddaughter Leela Cavanagh; and sisters Kathleen Barlow (Matt) and Ethna Meenan. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and their families whom he loved dearly and will cherish his memory.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Palm Royale Funeral Home, located at 6790 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., Naples, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 7775 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., Naples and will be livestreamed at https://vimeo.com/event/5020252/b7738e52a9. Following the service, Jim will be laid to rest at Palm Royale Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
Jim's legacy of hard work and devotion to family will live on through those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
