Jim Wilkinson, 73, of Turlock, California passed away peacefully on the evening of August 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Colorado on August 14,1952, to Charles Ernest "Ernie" Wilkinson and Margaret Mary McCumber, he spent his early years enjoying the mountains and cultivating a deep love for nature.
Moving to California in his early adulthood to pursue his career and passion in radio broadcasting, Jim quickly built a life filled with family, ambition, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. One of Jim's proudest success stories was the ownership of local radio station HOT 105, during his tenure. Jim also became an avid stockbroker later in his life, and continued as an active trader for many years, both personally and professionally.
He was a devoted father, and is survived by his two children, Brandon (Kristen) and Alissa (Brett). Jim took great pride in sharing his love for the outdoors with Brandon through activities such as hunting, snowboarding, and archery. He also cherished his three grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Jim is also survived by his three younger brothers, Jerold (Kelly), Larry (Amy), and Jeff (Janice).
Beyond his work and family, Jim had a deep love for dogs, especially his Australian Shepherds, Skippy and Shiloh. Jim found great peace in his daily walks through the local university campus alongside his dogs. If you wish to honor Jim, donations may be made to Australian Shepherds Forever, in his memory.
The family has chosen to hold a celebration of life privately. Jim's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
