Jimmie Sue (Toney) Castro, 91, of Worcester, MA., passed away peacefully at Holy Trinity, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.
Jimmie Sue was born on February 14, 1934, to the late Frances (Robinson) Toney, and Gene Toney, in Troy, Alabama. Jimmie Sue moved to Worcester in 1956 where she raised six children and later became a child day care teacher. Jimmie Sue was predeceased by her infant baby, Belinda Berry, her late, first husband, Major Jefferson Berry, JR, and her first-born son, Major Jefferson Berry III.
Jimmie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Raul Castro, daughters, Ella Louise Berry of Worcester, and Pamela Penny of Chattanooga TN, three sons, Larry Berry, Dwain Berry, and Mark Berry, all of Worcester, sister Lorena McClain, brother John D Toney, and a host of grand, great, and great great, grandchildren.
Jimmie was a woman of great love, compassion, and faith in her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Jimmie had a heart of gold and never turned away a soul in need. She was very giving of her time, talents, and treasures. Jimmie was also a praying woman and a preacher of righteousness. Together with her husband and family, she shepherded a mission called Sharing Arms Ministries, where she invested in people and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jimmie’s life was everything Jesus and people, and she loved as hard as she prayed!
Jimmie was the epitome of a true Christ follower and served her Lord faithfully. Jimmie Sue will be greatly missed by those she left behind, and it’s her prayer that they who are not following Christ, will repent and be saved so that they can meet her in heaven.
