A graveside service for Jimmy Ray Alvey, age 65 of Cleveland, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Harris Chapel Cemetery in Lindale with Brent Sugg officiating. Family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. Jimmy was born on July 21, 1960, in Tyler, Texas, to Virgil Ray Alvey and Patricia Jordan Alvey. He passed away on August 21, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Ray Alvey, and his mother, Patricia Jordan Alvey. He is survived by the mother of his children, Bridgette Yvonne Alvey; his children, Lauren Ashley Sugg and husband Brentin Dwayne Sugg and Lindsey Brooke Barricks and husband Casey Wade Barricks; his grandchildren, Kaisley Alaine Barricks and Audrey Brooke Barricks; his brother, David Wayne Alvey; and his nephews, Dustin Curt Stehman and Riley Wayne Alvey. Jimmy grew up in Tyler, Texas, where he developed a lifelong passion for the auto body repair industry. He especially loved trucks and built a successful career in auto body work. He even went on to compete in truck shows, where he gained recognition for his skill, dedication and immense talent-earning first place for his custom show truck. In his late twenties, Jimmy married Bridgette, the mother of his children. Together they had two daughters, Lauren and Lindsey, whom Jimmy loved deeply. Anyone who knew him knew that his children were the center of his life. He never missed an opportunity to share his immense love and pride for them. Jimmy was often described as sweet, caring, compassionate, and friendly. He would do anything he could to help others. His servant's heart led him to spend part of his life as a volunteer fireman in Splendora, Texas, a role he greatly enjoyed as it allowed him to give back to his community. In the last 12 years of his life, Jimmy faced many health challenges. Despite this, he maintained a positive outlook and fought bravely to spend as much time as possible with his family. In his final year and a half, Jimmy experienced one of life's greatest joys: becoming a grandfather to his granddaughter, Audrey. He loved her as deeply as he loved his daughters and cherished every moment he spent with her. Jimmy was a follower of Christ, and his family finds peace in knowing that he is now healed and spending eternity with Jesus. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Although I didn't know Jimmy, I know David and how much he loves his brother. May peace be with the family during this time. God bless y'all.
