Jimmy Lee Brewer, a cherished soul and lifelong resident of Chickasha, and Rush Springs Oklahoma, passed away at home peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 86. Services will be held on Monday August 25, 2025 at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral home. Visitation will be Sunday August 24, from 1-7 pm at the Rush Springs Chapel.
Born on September 26, 1938, in Chickasha, Jimmy's early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Vimy Ridge Schools, where he laid the foundation of his education. He later graduated from Rush Springs High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life characterized by dedication and service. Jimmy's work ethic was evident to all who knew him, as he devoted over 37 years to the government with the Soil Conservation Department, a role in which he excelled and found great purpose.
Jimmy's life was a testament to love and commitment, particularly evident in his cherished relationships. He married Carol Veronica Bratcher in 1958 in Rush Springs, and this union was blessed with four loving children: Gregory Brewer and his wife Laura, Scotty Brewer and his wife Cindy, Tony Brewer, and daughter Janna Jasso with her husband Robert. Jimmy found love again and married Juanita Lorine Turney on January 4, 1984, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2015. He later found companionship and joy in his marriage to Mary Frances Botts on December 4, 2016, in Rush Springs. His family grew to include step-daughter Carla Wasson alongside her husband Larry and numerous adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish their memories with him.
Jimmy's zest for life was as vast as the Oklahoma sky. His interests were many, but above all, he relished the thrill of music. He was often found strumming his guitar alongside buddies at the Ninnekah Senior Citizens center, sharing melodies that resonated with the hearts of many. His love for the outdoors was unparalleled, with camping, fishing, and motorcycle riding being activities that brought him immense joy. Jimmy was also a devout member of the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, where he found spiritual solace and community.
Preceded in death by his sister, Leva Joy Rose, and parents, Robert Lee and Anise Katheline (Johnson) Brewer, Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the sweet strum of guitar strings on a warm evening. He will be remembered as a man who lived his life fully, loved without reservation, and worked with unwavering dedication. Jimmy's memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his stories will be passed down through generations like the cherished heirlooms they are.
