His work with breast cancer helped lead to a dedicated breast cancer intervention program. He was instrumental in establishing a children's trauma center in rural India, which he dedicated to his children.
A memorial service in his honor is planned on Saturday, August 26, at 2:00 pm at Sauls Funeral Home at 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910.
