Jo-Ann Stemmer, 82, of Corpus Christi, Texas, went home to Jesus on December 27, 2024 surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.
Jo-Ann was born August 7th, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jo-Ann married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Daniel Stemmer, on September 2nd, 1961 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Together, they had two children: Diana and Danielle. Diana married Jerry Jurach in 1984, and Danielle married Tom Landers in 1992. Jo-Ann cherished her family and was very proud of her four grandchildren, Jerry Jurach IV, Daniel William Jurach, Joshua Cody Jurach, and Kristen Lillian Stuart. She was blessed with four great grandchildren who loved her very much: Daniel, Elouise, Michael, and Lula.
Jo-Ann was the Christian Matriarch of the family. She started her walk with the Lord in her early 20's while listening to the Billy Graham Crusade on the radio. During the invitational at the end of the sermon, Jo-Ann accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She then prayed to God asking for confirmation that her soul had truly been saved. The next morning she woke up to a world covered in white snow, and she knew that God had truly purified her soul. She remained a dedicated and loyal servant to God and ensured that all of her family knew Christ personally, especially her loving husband, Dan Stemmer, who was her toughest convert. Dan had chosen science over God for many years, but thanks to her loving persistence, she brought Dan to also know and love Jesus Christ. She loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior with as many people as possible. She enjoyed being a fifth grade Sunday school teacher and singing in the church choir. Jo-Ann was a member of Gardendale Baptist Church for many years.
Dan and Jo-Ann were married for 61 years. Dan passed away on September 13, 2022.
Remaining to cherish Jo-Ann's memory are her daughters Diana (Jerry), Danielle (Tom); grandchildren, Jerry (Jessica), Daniel (Megan), Josh, Kristen (Hayden); great-grandchildren, Daniel, Elouise, Michael, and Lula.
Jo-Ann joins her husband, Daniel Stemmer, in Heaven.
Nahum 1:7
"The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him."

She was a very sweet woman I knew from Gardendale, she loved Jesus and her husband. She prayed many prayers for him to love Jesus as much as she did and Jesus answered her prayers. I am sure she is singing and rejoicing in heaven today.
