Jo Ann Yelton Stockton, 76, of Bessemer City, passed away at Caromont Regional on December 7, 2023. She was born November 1, 1947, in Gaston County, North Carolina to the late Robert Lee Yelton and Minnie Lala GoinsYelton. She is also preceded in death by brother, Jerry Yelton.
Jo Ann was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School in Gastonia. She retired from Carolina Brush after 25 years of service. Jo Ann loved going to the beach, shopping, soap operas, cocker spaniels and Hallmark movies. Her greatest loves were her family and friends – especially the times spent with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Mike Stockton; daughter, Kim Self (Dwayne); brother, Robert “Shot” Yelton (Mary Ellen); sisters, Brenda “Jane” Yelton, Ruby Halk; grandchildren, Seth, Kyndal, and Jacob Collett.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Jo Ann’s funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Teague officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
