Jo Celia Barnett

Jo Celia "Jody" (Kornele) Barnett, 88 year old Woodward resident, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 23, 2023 in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Donnetta Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Jo Celia (Lord) Kornele Barnett was born on September 22, 1934 in Seiling, Oklahoma to William Lawrence and Naomi (Newell) Lord. She grew up in the Seiling area and attended Seiling and Woodward schools. Jody was united in marriage to James Nelson Kornele on September 25, 1951 in Clayton, New Mexico. They made their first home in Freedom and later Jody moved to Woodward. Jody worked at various nursing homes and hospitals and she also worked at the Western State Correctional Center in Fort Supply.
She was a long time member of the First Assembly of God. Jody was a member of the Happy Timers Club at her church and Sam's. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and her much loved dog Cocoa. She also enjoyed flowers, playing bingo, board games, watching western movies and the Christian Channel.
Jody is survived by one son, Nelson Kornele of Freedom; four daughters: Tyresa Daughhetee of Freedom, Janet and Mark Snow of Amarillo, Texas, Tammy Kornele of Shawnee, Rhonda Mitchell of Freedom; eight grandchildren: Shana Lepsch, Blake Snow, Ashley Snow and Lauren Lewis, J.J. Miller, DD Gonser, Jason Kornele, and RJ Kornele; 12 great-grandchildren: Alex and Michael Lepsch, Bryce and Hadlee Snow, Bentley and Tenzley Lewis, Oaklynn Matern, Jessica and Jacob Miller, Cooper Gonser, Conner Kornele, and Trenton Welty; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, three sisters, one daughter, and two great-granddaughters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Assembly of God Church with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
