Ms. Jo Ann Derusha, age 80 of Trion, Georgia, formerly of Denver, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 in a Lafayette Healthcare Center.
Ms. Derusha was born in Trion, Georgia on April 8, 1944, daughter of the late James Harold Burkhalter and Nora Belle Ledbetter Burkhalter. She was from the Denver Public School System and was of the Christian Faith. Ms. Derusha enjoyed traveling, camping, going to casinos and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Burkhalter; sister, Nancy Lambert; sister-in-law, Linda Burkhalter; and a niece, Alisa Burkhalter.
Ms. Derusha is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lee and Kim Derusha and Kevin Derusha; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Don Alexander; nieces, Debbie Bostwick and Donna Lee; a nephew, Grant Burkhalter; special friends, Jane Brown, Vickie Darnell and Ralph Brock; two grandchildren, Jessica Derusha and Stephan Derusha; and two great grandchildren, Roman Derusha and Hunter Derusha; and friend and father of her children, William "Bill" Derusha.
Graveside and Interment services for Ms. Derusha will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Sammy Barrett officiating.
The family will receive friends at Coffman Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon until 1:30 P.M.
Mrs. Derusha's Family would like to thank Pruitt Healthcare at Shepherd Hills for the care given to her while she was being treated there.
