Jo Ann Franks, 57, passed away on January 30, 2025.

Born in Coshocton, she was a resident of Suffield. She graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1986 and Kent State University in 1990. Jo Ann worked for Synchrony Bank for 8 years. She was a member of Wedgewood United Methodist Church and played the flute in the Cuyahoga Community Band. Jo Ann enjoyed sports, specifically Kent State basketball and the Cleveland Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers. She loved spending time with her family including her new granddaughter, Quinn, as well as her beloved dog, Jack.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Lowe, and father-in-law, Donald P. Franks. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Donnie Franks; children, Joseph and Emma Franks; grandchild, Quinn Franks-Shilling; mother, Margaret Lowe; sister, Julia (Martin) Kimball; mother-in-law, Evelyn “Boots” Franks; brother-in-law, Kim (Cindy) Franks; sister-in-law, Terri Franks; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider performing a random act of kindness in Jo Ann’s honor. Whether it's helping a neighbor, offering a word of encouragement, or supporting someone in need, your thoughtful gesture will be a meaningful tribute to her legacy.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, February 6th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312.
