Jo Ann Jenkins

Jo Ann Williams Jenkins was born September 7, 1946, in Simpson County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Wilkes Henry Williams and Fannie Bell Humbles Williams. Jo Ann attended Lincoln School in Franklin, Kentucky. She was married to the late Alonzo Jenkins. Jo Ann made Bowling Green her home over 50 years ago and united with the Seventh Street Baptist Church under the pastoral ship of Rev. J.E. Jones. Affectionally known as "Mama Jo" to everyone, she served as a Willing Worker at Seventh Street, a true testament of who she was. Jo Ann formerly worked as a teacher's assistant at Little Treasures Day Care and as a bus driver for Bowling Green City Schools. Mama Jo loved to cook, and she didn't mind sharing a meal with any of her family and many friends. Mama Jo was full of wit and wisdom. She was admired and loved by everyone who knew her.
On October 27, 2025, at the age of 79, Joann joined those preceding her in death; husband Alonzo Jenkins; her parents, Wilkes Henry Williams and Fannie Bell Humbles Williams; her siblings, Presley Hall Jr, Lena Mae Johnson, Bessie Lou Stanley, Terry Williams, Mary Davis, Robert Hall, Pete Hall, Betty Ferguson, Frances Helen Flippin, Ida Pearl Satterfield, and Evelyn Hall.
The life and legacy of Jo Ann Williams Jenkins will forever rest with her sister, Wilma Jean Williams, Franklin, Kentucky; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, a loving and caring church family and friends.
