JO ANN MCKINLEY Jo Ann McKinley died peacefully on October 1st, 2025, after a long illness. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Beatrice Griffith; stepfather, Orville Harris; and her sister, Jane Rose Carter. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Rodney Mckinley; her children, Heidi McKinley Moody (Lance) and Todd McKinley (Susan); her grandchildren, Max and Ivy Moody, Kelsey Reed (Aaron) and Hunter McKinley; and her great-grandson, Stetson Reed. Jo Ann was born on January 5th, 1941, in Trussville, Alabama. She lived most of her childhood in Corinth, Mississippi. She finished high school in just three years and graduated from Howard College (later Samford University) with a BA in Home Economics. She was the president of her sorority, Beta Sigma Omicron. She also met her future husband, Rodney, at Howard and they were married on the college campus in 1963. Jo Ann was a very talented and professional seamstress and longtime member of the American Sewing Guild. Rodney and Jo Ann first lived in Birmingham and moved to Cincinnati in 1964. On retirement, the couple moved to Mason, buying a home on the same street where both of their children lived. Jo Ann loved reading, sewing, jigsaw puzzles and watching birds outside near her beloved magnolia tree. Private service.
