Jo Ellen Snyder

PERRYSVILLE: Jo Ellen Snyder passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 18, 2025, in her home surrounded by her family. She was 73.
She was born on November 12, 1951, to parents William & Shirley (Morton) Zechman in Ashland, Ohio. Jo graduated from Ashland High School with the class of 1970, and went on to Nursing School, where she obtained her LPN in 1971.
Jo worked as an LPN for over 40 years, retiring from her career at the Kno-Ho-Co in Ashland's Family Planning Clinic in 2012. Afterwards, Jo began working at Modern Home Supply, with her husband Mark, where she loved visiting with the customers.
Jo enjoyed boating on Pleasant Hill Lake, where Mark and she were members of the Pleasant Hill Boat Club. She also loved to travel. Jo was always on the "go" and ready for her next trip. Her adventures took her all around the U.S., including Alaska, as well as Punta Cana, St. Thomas, and her favorite place of all, Aruba.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Mark Snyder; her sons William (Amy) Gannon, Ryan Murphy, and Timothy (Clare) Murphy; her grandchildren Madison (Yohei) Ozawa; Caitlin Gannon, Macy Jo Gannon, Morgan Murphy, Owen Murphy, and Elliana Murphy; her great grandchild Toji Ozawa; and her sister Becky (Jim Pentleton) Walsh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Judith Ann Hawley.
The Snyder family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home-Lindsey Chapel in Loudonville, Ohio, with a funeral service immediately following at 2 p.m. Pastor John Temple will officiate, and burial will take place in Loudonville Cemetery.
Contributions in Jo's memory may be made at the funeral home to LifeCare Hospice of Wooster.
