Joan Marguerite (Longo) Bevan, 85, of Kingston, NH, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Salemhaven in Salem, NH.

Born on February 12, 1940, in Lawrence, MA, Joan was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School. She embarked on a distinguished career at Raytheon as a keypunch operator, rising to the role of department supervisor before retiring after 40 years of dedicated service

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 47 years, Robert Bevan, her father, Carmen Longo, and her mother, Philomena (DeRosa) Longo. She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Sheri Sharkey, and her husband, Patrick, her beloved grandson, Jack. She will be missed by her brothers, Anthony "Tony" Longo and Carmen "Butch" Longo, along with his wife, Lillian, by her nephews, A.J. Longo and Robert "Bobby" Bevan; her nieces, Barri Bevan, Laura Longo, and Valerie Longo-Boudrow. Joan was also loved by her adopted family Melinda Henneberry and her husband Tom, and their daughters Sara and Madison who called her Nana. She will be deeply missed by her cherished best friend, Gerry Kinney, her caring neighbors at Lamplighter Estates, and the many birds and squirrels who never left her yard hungry. Joan had a gift for making people feel welcome, whether it was with a warm smile or a quick-witted comment that left everyone laughing. Her kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength touched all who knew her.

In accordance with Joan's wishes, she was cremated and no formal services will be held; although a celebration of her life will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Animal Rescue League or the MSPCA in Methuen, MA, in honor of Joan's deep love for animals.

Arrangements are by Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. To leave an online condolence, please visit Joan's tribute page at www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com.
