Albert W. Bevan Jr. of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on July 28, 2025 at the age of 88. He is survived by his son Albert W. Bevan III ("Tripper"), daughter-in-law Stacy, and two grandchildren, Peri and Reece Bevan of O'Fallon, Missouri, and her daughter Layla Whiting, and two grandchildren, Adelaide ("Addy") and Elsa Moye of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn E. Bevan, his father, Albert W. Bevan Sr., his mother Bertha Richmond Bevan, and his step-mother Alice Smith Bevan.

Albert spent the majority of his life in scenic Colorado. He was raised in Denver, graduated with a bachelor's degree in the class of '59 from Colorado College, was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity, achieved a Masters degree from Dartmouth College, and Doctorate degree in physics from the University of Colorado.

Albert met the love of his life, Kathy at a fish fry while at the University of Colorado as she was pursuing her passion for teaching. The two were soon happily married on August 31, 1966 in Austin, Minnesota, honeymooned in Aspen, Colorado, and settled in Colorado Springs to begin a career and raise Tripper and Layla.

While achieving success in his career, Albert prioritized time with his family, attending multiple sports, dance and other activities for Tripper and Layla through their childhood, and frequently packing up the station wagon for family trips to the 'Firefly' house in Aspen for Winter skiing and Summer fishing, or long road trips across the country. Albert was a Christian and an active member of Vista Grande Community Church in Colorado Springs.

Through his career, Albert was a patriot, contributing to the defense of our freedom. After achieving a GS-15, the highest level in Civil Service, Albert retired in July 1998 from the Space Warfare Center in Colorado Springs. In honor of Dr. Al Bevan Jr., a United States flag was flown over the U.S. Air Force Academy on June 15, 1998.

Albert and Kathy moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado to enjoy retirement with views of Mt. Sopris and herds of elk from their home along with building lasting friendships with neighbors and other members of Mountain View Church. Albert continued skiing at Snowmass with his annual pass, favoring the runs from Elk Camp and High Alpine, and fly fishing in 'Gold Medal' waters in the Aspen valley area. For several years, Albert and Kathy loved to take jeep trips on high mountain passes, and camp in aspen groves with their West Highland White Terriers. The more difficult the 4-wheeling, the better! Albert also became a Gideon, and along with his wife Kathy, helped fulfill the Gideon mission for several years of spreading the Gospel throughout the area.

In 2017, Albert and Kathy moved to Wentzville, Missouri to be closer to family and a milder climate. Albert was a dedicated and loving care giver to Kathy until her passing in 2024. Albert continued enjoying companionship with 'Princess', their Norwich Terrier, watching Denver Bronco games, Saint Louis Blues hockey, St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and spending time with family in the St. Louis area, particularly when it included a freshly grilled filet on the BBQ!

Albert will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and we have comfort in knowing Albert is spending eternity with the Lord Jesus, our savior.

A private family memorial service and celebration of life is planned for Albert.
