Shirley Joan Boswell passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of March 28, 2025. Joan was born in Paris, Texas on December 3, 1938, to Travis M. and Pauline Walker Kerr. She attended Paris schools and graduated from Paris High School in 1957.
She married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Boswell on June 21, 1957, and together they had three daughters, Lynnette, Sandra, and Angela. Joan and Tommy relocated to Longview, Texas in 1979 to establish their business, Kleen Sweep. Joan continued to operate their business after Tommy's death on March 7, 2006. She retired at the youthful age of eighty-two, after selling Kleen Sweep to daughter Angie Browning and husband Bob.
She was engaged in numerous service organizations but especially enjoyed fund raising activities for the Longview Chapter of the Elks Lodge and VFW.
She is survived by her daughter's; Lynnette Bailey and husband Barry of Henderson, TX; Sandra Boswell Howell of Ft. Lupton, CO; Angie Browning and husband Bob of Kilgore, TX; brother Bobby Kerr and wife Patty of Joplin, MO; and sister Charlotte (Penny) Holder and husband Jerry of Farmersville, TX. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandson as well as many, many cherished family and friends. Their love was her greatest treasure.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Boswell, parents Travis and Pauline Kerr, sisters Carolyn Kerr and Danita Kerr Ballard.
Her very tiny feet leave very big shoes to fill.
