Joan K. Boyce, age 73, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia.
A proud graduate of Upper Darby High School, Class of 1970, Joan began her professional journey with roles at INA, Cigna, and Comcast, where she served as an administrative assistant in the Finance Department until her retirement. Never one to sit still, she continued working at Kohl’s post-retirement, forming cherished friendships and leaving a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
Joan was predeceased by her beloved parents, James F. Boyce and Marie D. Blair, and her brother Kevin. She is survived by her devoted siblings Barbara Schultheiss (Jack), Brian Boyce (Andrea), Mary McGoldrick (Michael) and James (Karen), as well as her treasured nieces and nephews: Caryn Hogg, Christopher Schultheiss, Meghan Lechette, Ryan Boyce, Hilary Boyce, and Leif McGoldrick.
Joan’s spirit was full of joy and creativity. She found immense happiness in dancing with Touch of Class Studio, participating in recitals that brought together friends and family. A passionate reader and loyal fan of the Harry Potter series, she never missed a movie marathon weekend. Above all, Joan cherished time spent with her friends and their families, finding joy in simple moments and meaningful connections.
Family and friends are invited to Joan’s Visitation 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at The Donohue Funeral Home. 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, followed by her Memorial Service at 3:00 PM. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
