Joan Ann Camp

Joan Ann (Crawford) Camp, age 85, of Hyannis and formerly of Mashpee, passed away on August 9th, 2023, following a long illness. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Reverend John L. Camp.
Joan was born in Shamokin, PA, to the late Arnold Crawford and Betty (Tobias) Crawford, and she was lovingly raised by her mother and stepfather, Jerry Shadle. She had a passion for caregiving, which grew into a career. She graduated from Mt Sinai School of Nursing in NYC and became a licensed nurse. She went on to have a successful career in nursing, working as a visiting nurse and case manager."
As a proud pastor's wife, Joan was a "prayer warrior", a devout Christian, and an active member in the United Methodist Church. Her caring nature extended past her faith and career; she loved being a mother more than anything and being a grandmother, a "Mimi", brought her so much joy. She loved a good book, as well as relaxing on the beach. Her adoration for travel gave her a worldly knowledge that made her truly creative.
She is survived by her daughters, MaryBeth Howard and her husband Kent Howard, of Charlton, MA, Karen Camp of Mashpee, MA; her grandchildren Harley Howard, Andrew Howard, and Jacob Howard of Charlton, MA; her sisters, Sharon Lawer of Lewisburg, PA and Cathy Dunkleberger of Mohrsville, PA and brothers-in-law, and many nieces and a nephew.
A service will be held at the John Wesley United Methodist Church, located at 270 Gifford St, Falmouth, MA 02540 on August 26, 2023 at 10:00 am.
