Joan E. Dey

Joan E. (Allard) (Martin) Dey, 93 of Tewksbury, Massachusetts died peacefully at Windsor Place in Wilmington, Massachusetts on June 1, 2025.
Joan was raised in Somerville and graduated from Rosary Academy in Watertown. After marriage, Joan moved to Tewksbury and was a long time resident of the town. She was an active member of St. William's Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and was involved in the church's Sodality group for many years. Joan spent her career working for Tewksbury Public Schools. She began her career as a staff lunch service employee. Through hard work and dedication, she eventually became the Director of the School Food Service program for the school system. This was an accomplishment for which she was very proud. After retiring Joan took great joy volunteering at Winchester Hospital for over ten years. Joan loved to travel. She was always planning her next travel adventure. She particularly loved going on cruises of which she did 97!
Joan was predeceased by her first husband, William J. Martin, Jr. and her second husband, John Dey. She was also predeceased by her son, Bill Martin, and her stepdaughters Cheryl Ring, Honey Tufts, and Joan Ryan. She is survived by her son, Stephen Martin of Marina Del Rey, California, and her daughter, Mary Stewart and her husband, Jim, of Wilmington. Additionally, she is survived by her stepdaughter Jeanie Snook and her husband, John, of Atkinson, NH, as well as her son-in-law Stew Ring of Wilmington. She leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren all of whom she cared for deeply.
All are welcome to attend her calling hours on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9-10:30 a.m. at Tewksbury Funeral Home, 1 Dewey Street, Tewksbury 978-851-2061. Her funeral mass will be offered at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church in Tewksbury, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, MA.
