William A. "Bill" McFedries, Jr., 72, of Lowell, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Belluche) McFedries. The couple celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in May, and shared more than 50 wonderful years together.
Born on January 17, 1953, in Shirley, MA, Bill grew up in Lowell and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1970.
Bill enjoyed a long career as a Senior Mechanical Designer before retiring from Raytheon in 2022. A man of many talents, Bill also designed and built the house his family has called home for more than 40 years.
Bill loved Lake Winnipesaukee, where he spent more than 40 summers making memories (and mudslides) with his family and friends. An avid fisherman and proud Harley-Davidson rider, Bill enjoyed the simple pleasures in life - a Hershey bar, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and a good song. He was best known for his Italian meatballs and chicken parmesan.
Above all, Bill cherished his family. He is survived by his children, William McFedries III and his wife, Kelly (Barry) McFedries of Natick, and Amanda McFedries and her fiancé Eric Fields of Somerville; and his cherished grandchildren Madison, Madeleine, Charlotte, and Owen. He also leaves his sister, Carolann Roberts of Haverhill; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family members, and dear friends.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William Sr. and Carol (Gomes) McFedries, and his two brothers, Joseph Valley and John "Keenan" McFedries.
His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sepulveda and the teams at Mass General Hospital and Lowell General Hospital for all their support and care.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, there will be no calling hours, a private burial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance:
