PRINCETON- Joan Annette Duffield, 94, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, September 22, 2023.
Joan was born in Princeton, IL on December 27, 1928 to Axel and Vertner (Whipple) Christensen. She was a graduate of Princeton High School, Class of 1947. She married Oscar "Duffy" Duffield on February 5, 1949 in Princeton, Illinois.
She worked at Vassarette Brassiere Factory in Princeton Illinois following High School. She was a member of the "Red Hat Belles" of the Red Hat Society in Sebring Florida. She enjoyed sewing, camping at Kentuckiana Campground, spending time with family and friends for dinners and lunches, and holiday family gatherings. She was often called aunt Joan, and even grandma by some of her younger family members whom she would also welcome for stays at their home.
Joan is survived by Cindy Luebke, niece, Dan Christensen, nephew, Diane Cordrey, niece, sister in laws Jean Saal, Cheryle Owens, and Helen Duffield, and many very close great nieces and nephews whom she loved and held dear to her heart.
Preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "Duffy" Duffield, parents Axel and Vertner Christensen, her loving dog Nikki, and many close family members and friends.
Per her wishes, private graveside services will be held at a later date and time.
