Joan Fordham Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goldfinch Funeral Home - Carolina Forest Chapel - Myrtle Beach on Dec. 17, 2025.
Joan Corcoran Fordham passed away peacefully December 16, 2025, in Myrtle Beach,

SC with her loving husband, Jim, by her side.

Born May 23, 1941 in Queens, NY to Thomas and Adelaide Corcoran, Joan grew up

with her 2 younger sisters, Patricia Molumby and Cathy (David) Barton. She achieved a

Master's degree in education from St Joseph's College in NY.

Joan met Jim in 1967 and soon decided to spend their lives together, marrying on July

6, 1968. They were blessed with three children, James M (Andre') Fordham III, Karen

(Mike) Martinez and Susan (Kevin) Werner. Along with five grandchildren, Alexis, Abbie

and Kevin Christopher (KC) Werner and Meghan and Ethan Martinez.

Joan was a devoted wife and mother who guided her family through multiple moves

across different states. She made friends easily and was an expert hostess as well as

an avid letter writer to friends she made thoughout her life.

She was a devout Catholic who blessed the many different parishes she belonged to

over her life with her service and commitment to helping others. She was most recently

a member of Pier Giorgio Frassati Parrish in Myrtle Beach.

Joan was a woman of many interests. She loved her daily crossword puzzles, playing

Bingo, bridge and golf with friends, as well as all manner of arts and crafts. She enjoyed

travelling to new places and cruising to distant ports.

Joan was loved by so many and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral Mass will be held at Frassati Chapel, 215 Ronnie Court, Myrtle Beach, SC on

Saturday, January 10th at noon.
