Mrs. Joan Garges, age 75, of New Albany, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday evening, April 4, 2024, with her loving family at her side.
Joan was born in Manchester, England, on August 27, 1948, the only child of the late Jack and May Robinson Ashton. She came to the United States in 1979.
She worked as a nurse’s aide in hospitals and nursing homes.
She married James Garges of Chalfont, PA, on January 20, 1990, and they recently celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary.
She and Jim traveled extensively in the United States and abroad, enjoying fishing and big game hunting. She amassed a huge collection of various species of game animals and fish.
They moved to the back hills of New Albany in 2018, and enjoyed the scenic beauty of their surroundings. Joan was an avid bird watcher and loved gardening.

Funeral Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
