Joan M. Geiger (née McManus), lovingly known as Mom, G-Mom, Aunt Joan, and Joanie by those who cherished her, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025 at 2:22pm, in Abington, Pennsylvania. She was 80 years old.

Born on October 16, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joan was part of a very close-knit community, St Genevieve's Parish and a family that would grow to define her life. Her journey was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to her family. She married the late Samuel H. Geiger III, with whom she shared a life filled with love and partnership until his passing. Together they built a legacy of family that continues to flourish.

Joan’s greatest joy came from her ever-growing family and friends. She is survived by her beloved sister Gail and brother-in-love Doug Hager, brother-in-love Jim (Sheila) Connolly; her 5 devoted daughters and spouses: Denise (Duane) Darrell , Susan Palmer Richards, Colleen (Rick) Cleveland, Jacquelyn Crosser, and Jennifer (Dan) Saavedra; her treasured grandchildren Ryan (Danielle), Andrea (Spencer), Tyler (Chris), Megan (Zach), Shannon, Cole, Michale, Gabriel, Connor, Nic, Alex, and Nick; her precious great-grandchildren James, Riley, Camryn, Scottie, Atreus; her many nieces & nephews; her cousins and her most dearest friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Dennis & Agnes (née Reddington) McManus, sister Mary Patricia Salamone and brother-in-love Anthony Salamone; sister-in-love Sheila Connolly; and son-in-love Dave Palmer.

Joan’s love for her family was boundless and enduring—a source of strength for all who knew her.

Her life was a testament to the power of love and connection. Joan’s home was always open to those she cared about—a place where laughter echoed through the halls and memories were made around every corner. Her warmth extended beyond her immediate family to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Joan’s legacy is one of compassion and guidance. Even in passing, she continues to inspire those she leaves behind with the lessons she imparted through her words and actions. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now at peace after a life well-lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 10, 2025, at Whitemarsh Valley Event Center (The William Boulton Dixon American Legion Post 10) located at 493 S. Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania (19034). The receiving line will take place from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a service and reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All who knew Joan are invited to join in honoring her memory.

As we bid farewell to Joan M. Geiger—a woman whose heart knew no bounds—we carry forward the love she so generously shared with us all. May her memory bring peace to those who loved her deeply.

Wishing all who knew & loved her… PEACE.
