Joan Mary Glendenning passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the age of 93.
Joan was born on January 24, 1932 to Donald and Eleanor (nee Mackey) Merkel. After high school, Joan began her family and raised her five sons before starting at Ford Motor Company where she worked on the assembly line for many years before retiring in 1993. She was an animal lover but had favored all her sheep that she raised over the years. Joan enjoyed shopping and loved to laugh and joke around with everyone she would come in contact with. She will be missed by many.
Joan is survived by her son, Mark Glendenning; daughter-in-law, Lois Ellis; grandchildren, Amy McKinley, Douglas Glendenning, Leslie Darland, Heather Banfield, Matthew Glendenning, Lisa Bascomb, Timothy Glendenning and Danielle Hayes; many great-grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren. Joan was predeceased by her sons, Daniel, Matthew, Timothy and Michael; and also, by her parents.
Visitation for Joan will take place on Tuesday, June 24, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Tiffany-Young & Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 Fulton Street, Armada. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Joan will be laid to rest in White Chapel Cemetery in Troy, Michigan.
