CHURCH HILL – Joan "Sue"(Ford)Hensley, A Wife, sister, aunt, friend, and most importantly a servant of the Lord made her grand entrance to heaven on Saturday December 7, 2024 with loved ones by her side. Joan (Sue) had a long hard battle with dementia and was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Earl Hensley; father and mother, Orval and Anna Lee Ford; brothers, Freddie "Shug" Ford and Larry Ford; sister, Judy "Bunt" Ford, and her niece, Tonya Ford.
Joan is leaving behind her sister, Edna Gibbons (Larry), nieces, Brandy Ford, Brianna Long (fiancée-Jaime Robinson) and Taylor Long; baby nieces and nephews, E'Niyah O'Riyen, Aislin and baby Obadiah coming soon; special aunts, Hazel and Aretha Pratt; uncle, Jr. and Glen Pratt; as well as special cousins and a multitude of brothers and sisters in Christ.
We extend a big thank you to each caretaker and to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice for their amazing help and support. Joan (Sue) was an RN at Indian Path for several Years and a member of Calvary Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church since 1980 where she served the Lord and her Church.
A visitation will be held from 11:00-1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Preacher Randall Stapleton officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral service in procession to Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
