Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at her home with her family by her side, age 95. Joan was born June 20, 1927, in Bay City to the late Vincent and Stephanie "Stella" (Kaliszewski) Suhak. She married Edwin J. Jankowski on October 11, 1952, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and he predeceased her on January 8, 2014. Joan worked at Kuhlman Electric in her younger years and, after marriage, was a devoted mother and domestic engineer around their home. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church and loved spending time with her children, their families and her neighbors and cousins. Joan enjoyed baking and sharing her treats with her family, friends and all of her neighbors.Joan is survived by her daughter Jane Jankowski (Jason Stevenson), her son Paul (Evilia) Jankowski, five grandchildren: Alina (Derek) Secord, Amy Doefer (Andrew Schulz), Anica (Dustin) Simmons, Edwin (Emily) Jankowski and Joseph (Allie) Jankowski, five great grandchildren: Zach, Addy, Paul, Ellis and Pernilla and two special cousins, Barbara Bodge and Elaine (Donald) Stachowiak. Joan was predeceased by three brothers: Chester (Helen), Louis and Paul (Ann) Suhak and one sister Angeline (Walter) Marchlewicz.Jane and Paul would like to express their gratitude to all of Joan's neighbors who looked after her, helped her and became great friends to her over the past several yearsThe Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish-St. Stanislaus Church, 1503 Kosciuszko Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Jose Maria Cabrera will celebrate Mass at interment will follow in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends and family will gather at the church only on Saturday, November 19th from 1:00 PM until the time of Mass.
