Joan C. Jones

Joan C. Jones, 94, of Kingston, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Jones and the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen (McGloin) White.
Born in Boston on February 3, 1931, Joan pursued night classes at Silver Lake High School and went on to work for many years as a long-distance telephone operator for New England Telephone Company. Following her retirement, she continued serving others as a waitress at the Baptist Retirement Home-now Wingate Nursing Home at Silver Lake in Kingston.
Joan was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found joy in life's simple pleasures-playing Bingo, traveling, and going on cruises. She especially enjoyed bus trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City. A lifelong enthusiast of astrology, Joan loved spending time chatting with friends on the phone or meeting them for lunch. She had a great love for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and as a child, started a unique collection to enjoy.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Susan Jones of Kingston; her sons Peter Jones and his wife Val of Davenport, Florida, and Jeffrey Jones of Kingston; her grandchildren Alyssa, David, Joshua, Jeffrey, Jamie, Leslie, Nicholas, and Claudia; and her great-grandchildren Finn, Sophia, Wyatt, Penny, Gianna and Teddy. She also leaves behind her best friend of 84 years, Margaret Bresse. Joan was predeceased by her children William T., David, and Karen Jones.
Visitation for immediate family and close friends will take place at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court Street, Plymouth (next to Cordage Park), on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph's Church, Kingston, followed by interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
