Joan Loretta Kidd, 84, of Delano, departed this life peacefully on August 1, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on October 19, 1939, in Neville, Ohio, to the late Elmer and Cleo Stegner. Throughout life, Ms. Joan loved her family and always took care of everyone while being the heart and soul of the family. She enjoyed travelling, vacationing to the beach, and keeping everyone in line. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Cecil Murphy; one niece, Nancy Pender; and one nephew, Bill Murphy.
Left to cherish the many memories include her beloved husband of 64 years, Jim Kidd; children, Karen Renee (Donnie) Barrett, and Gregory (Jennifer) Howard; grandchildren, Jonathan Kidd, and Kenneth Abbott; great-grandchildren, Luna Kidd, Desiri a Kidd, and Evelyn Joan Kidd; one niece, Catherine Hunter; and one nephew, Michael Murphy.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, August 5, 2024, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service on Monday, at the funeral home.
