Joan Shibla Lynch was born December 30, 1936 and reared in the Claremont section of Hainesport, NJ by 2 loving Grandmoms and 2 loving parents. Joan is an alumnae of Hainesport Elementary School and Class of 1954 Rancocas Valley Regional High School and of Rider College and Penn State. For her professional career, Joan was a private secretary and felt blessed to have the privilege of serving others.
While volunteering for the Junior Women's League, her friend introduced Joan to her brother, William (Bill). Even though Joan wouldn't admit it, it was love at first sight for both. Following a 4 year U.S. postal romance, Joan and Bill were married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on October 6, 1962. Their marriage lasted 62 years and one week. 2 precious daughters were born to Joan and Bill: Joy (deceased) followed 5 years later by Jill (Ted Hendrix).
Starting in 1984, Joan and Bill became Santa's Helpers for Hainesport's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and riding around the township on the Firetrucks handing out candy canes and dog biscuits. Santa and Mrs. Claus brought wonderful expressions to the faces of the children – of all ages and what else but a happy heart could be felt by all.
New Jersey State Federation Women's Club showed Joan numerous ways to help women. Both Joan and Bill gave uncountable hours volunteering their time and talents through Mt. Holly Women's League and Juniors over the past 69 seasons. Together, they were able to expand their loving arms to others.
A long-term member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Joan served on numerous church committees and was the 2nd woman to ever serve on church council. Joan was involved in all aspects of serving the Lord, including the Ladies' Needle & Thread Group.
When not spending time with her family or volunteering at Church and other Community organizations, Joan loved to golf. She was a long-time member of Burlington Country Club. Enjoying the game of golf always delighted her.
After a very brief illness, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, God called Joan home. In addition to her husband and two daughters, Joan is survived by her grandchildren-in-love, Quinton (Blair), Andrew, Jake (Taylor) and Elizabeth (Seth) plus nieces, nephews and dear Friends who were Family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 910 Marne Highway, Hainesport, NJ 08036. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 5-7pm and on Saturday morning from 10-10:45am at the Church. A special thank-you to all the medical staff who helped during Joan's illness.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church – New Blessings Fund at the address above or to the 1st Presbyterian Church Community Lunch Program, 125 Garden St, Mt Holly, NJ, 08060. www.perinchief.com

My sincere condolences to Mrs. Lynch´s family. I knew the Lynch´s from church and grew up with the girls. Mrs. Lynch was always so kind and caring and always had a smile on her face. Rest in peace in the arms of our dear Lord and Savior.

I will never forget being in Seaside Heights with your family. you gave my sister and I a ride in your '53 Corvette. I got my finger caught in the car door.
Joan may you rest in peace to a long time friend .
We will miss your smiling face and kind words.

Joan, you will forever be in my heart and soul. I have learned so much from you about being a faithful servant, and so many times you "hinted" how to be a good Mom and wife. I will always treasure those evenings after a Meeting sitting in your driveway and trying to figure out all the problems of the world.
As you would always say whenever you sent a note, "your loving friend forever".
Rest in peace, dear friend. I love you!! Joelle
