Joan Middleton, also known as Boe Middleton, peacefully passed away on August 3, 2023, at the age of 87, in Maurice, Louisiana.
Joan was born on April 9, 1936, in Shelby County, Texas. Joan was the beloved daughter of Hubert Hulan and Florence Adams Kirkland.
Joan was a warm and lovely lady who cherished her family and friends. Her most important relationship was with Jesus Christ, whom she loved with all her heart. She found solace and strength in her faith throughout her life.
In her professional life, Joan dedicated many happy years to Graphic Packaging until her well-deserved retirement.
Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, where she found joy in attending her beloved Sunday School class until her health began to deteriorate. In the early years, she raised her children at Landmark Missionary Baptist, a church her father, Speck, played a pivotal role in organizing. Her husband, Charles E. Middleton, was the church Sunday School Superintendent for many years there.
When not working or spending time with her friends and loved ones, Joan enjoyed a little country line dancing. It was a hobby that brought her great joy and allowed her to express herself through movement.
Joan Middleton is survived by her son, Charles K. Middleton, and his wife, Jody Jane; daughter, Debra Beasley, her husband, Jack Bunn; her brother, Jerry and his wife, Bonnie Kirkland; as well as 5 grandchildren; 4 step granddaughters; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, Hubert Hulan and Florence Adams Kirkland; and her two nephews, Jeffrey Kirkland and Michael Middleton.
Joan's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
