Joan Moore

Joan Brown Moore, 89, passed away November 25, 2025. Joan was born on September 12, 1936, in Virginia on Perry Street in South Norfolk to the late Joseph C. and Clara E. Brown. She was the youngest of 13 children, all who have predeceased her.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 67 years, Carl Moore; daughter, Teresa Tierney (husband, Tom); and son, David Moore (wife, Karin), and grandchildren Paige, Brianne, Audrey, Dara and Ethan. She was also blessed to have Barry and Soledad Moore with sons, Darren and Ryan.
Joan loved her childhood and spoke often of her life in South Norfolk and later in Broad Creek Village. She graduated from Norview High School in 1956. She met Carl while working at Vepco. She and Carl were longtime members of Rock Church in Virginia Beach where they served as Deacons. She enjoyed shopping, going camping and spending time with the grandchildren. She worked in retail for years and later on became a Certified Nursing Assistant.
