In Loving Memory of Joan Victoria Olson
Joan Victoria Olson (née Danforth), affectionately known as MeMe to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 23, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.
Born on September 19, 1950, in Attleboro, MA, Joan was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, partner, and friend. Her life was marked by unwavering love, kindness, and a steadfast devotion to her family and those around her.
Joan is survived by her life partner, Ronald McNaughton; her son Jeffrey Danforth; her daughter's WindyJean Robertson with Timothy Robertson, Christy Danforth Baker with Scott Baker, and Jodi McCann with Craig McCann; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Her grandchildren include Katie Danforth, Timothy Robertson Jr., Kasey Alan Robertson, Shyla Danforth, Trevor Townsend Melland-Baker, Marie Robertson, Samantha Victoria Melland-Baker, Reilly Scott Hudson, Cole Alexander Hudson, Makenzie Christine McCann, Korbin Maverick McCann, and Clark Maddox McCann. Her cherished great-grandchildren are Rylee Goudreau, Benjamin Robertson, Kallen-Ryker Hermanson, Lennox-Jean Hermanson, and soon-to-arrive Emberly-Joan Hermanson.
Joan is also survived by her sisters Sandra Olson and Bevley Olson along with her brothers Larry Olson, Paul Olson, and Harry Olson. She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Olson, her brother Carl Junior, and Christy's twin, Chris, who passed away shortly after birth.
Throughout her life, Joan was known for her compassion, resilience, and unwavering spirit. She faced her battle with cancer with grace, courage, and was surrounded by the love and support of her family. Especially her daughter Christy, who was her "rock" during the most challenging times and Ron who spent the last 26 years supporting, cherishing and helping Joan, even during the hardest days.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held sometime in early spring, as Joan loved spring and her beautiful flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/donate.html.
May she rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished in our hearts.
