Joan Elizabeth Peoples
of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on December 11, 2023 at the age of 88. Born on August 28, 1935, in Portville, NY, Joan lived a life full of love, commitment, and adventure. Her spirit was bright and infectious, her heart was full of love, and she was truly a beacon of strength and resilience for all who knew her. Joan indeed left a lasting impression on the hearts of many, and it was her loving nature that will be remembered most.
Joan made Lansing, Michigan her home, where she poured her heart into her work as an administrative member of the Treasury Department for the State of Michigan. She was highly regarded for her dedication and hard work. Joan always found time for her hobbies and passions. She loved traveling to Cancun, spending tranquil times at her timeshare, and most importantly, spending quality time with her beloved dog, Rosie. Above all, Joan cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving Joan is her loving husband, Joseph Peoples, her children, Paula (Russ) Johnson, Milo Pierce III, Ray (Marie) Pierce, Alexander (Samantha) Pierce; her grandchildren, Amanda (Robert) Street, Jeremy Johnson, Richard Johnson, Brandee Ernest, Erin Pierce, Jamie Pierce, Kloie Pierce, A.J. Pierce; many great grandchildren; brothers Lee (Sue) Griffith, Ed Griffith. Joan is preceded in death by her parents, John and Irene Griffith; sons, Milo Pierce II, John E. Pierce; brother, Raymon Griffith; sister, Glenna Haring and sister-in-law, Dixie Griffith.
