Joan Marie Pidgeon
09/08/1936 – 12/31/2025
Joan Marie Pidgeon, 89, lived in Beekman over 60 years with her husband and raised a family. After a
long life, she passed away at home on December 31, 2025.
Joan was born in Highland New York. She was one of five sisters and one brother. Joan is survived by
her husband Ralph Pidgeon, 86, and immediate family, sons, Ralph John, and Scott and his husband
David Garland; daughter, Phyllis Mort and her husband Doug Mort; daughter-in-law Jennifer Pidgeon,
and three grandchildren Matt, Zach, and Corey.
Joan graduated from Highland High School in 1956. She was a cheerleader and captain her senior year.
She met her husband in 1961, and they were married June 3, 1962. They settled in Beekman and built
their first and only home together to raise a family. In addition to working at IBM when they met, Joan
also worked with the disabled, and later in life, as an upholsters' assistant. She enjoyed fishing with her
husband, shopping, the holidays, and playing cards. Joan and Ralph were able to take many trips
together as seniors. Joan will always be remembered for her strength, convictions, and tenacity.
Visitation will be held on January 6, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 317
Hooker Avenue in Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Hudson
Valley Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joan M Pidgeon, please visit our floral store.
