Joan A. Sillari, 88, of Metuchen, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Peaceful Pines Memory Care in Aberdeen.
Born in New York City, NY, she had resided in Highland Park, Edison, before moving to Metuchen in 1979.
She attended NYU and received her Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, then went on to obtain her Master's Degree from Rutgers at the age of 55. Joan was employed as a Physical Therapist for The Cerebral Palsy Center for 35 years. She also created a program helping babies with cerebral palsy.
Joan was an active communicant of St. Francis Cathedral in Metuchen. She served as a Eucharistic Minister as well as taught CCD classes. In her free time, Joan enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong, and was an avid reader.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Mario (d.2007) and her parents, Salvatore and Josephine Rossano.
She is survived by two sons, Peter Sillari and his wife Colleen of Edison and Paul Sillari and his wife Lori of River Edge; three grandchildren, Allyssa Sillari and her husband John Torres, Nicholas and Thomas Sillari; four nieces and nephews, Steven and Joseph Quagliano and Ann and John Sillari.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 9:45am from Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27), Metuchen followed by a 10:15am Funeral Mass at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Entombment will be at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 7 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cerebral Palsy Association of NJ, 354 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08608.
