My heart just broke when Sonny called to tell me of my dear friend Joanie's passing. She was so special to just about everyone whose lives she touched
. Having been friends since we were 14 years old, I have years and years of happy and sad memories of Joanie and our families. She will be terribly missed. My heart goes out to Sonny, Laurie, Lisa, Jamie, Tracey and Leslie and their families. It is a very trying time for you all, but you have family and friends to hang onto for support. Love you all and, again, I am so, so sorry.

My sincere condolences to my dear nieces; Laurie,Lisa, Jamie,Tracy,Leslie and their spouses. Special thoughts to Joan's sister Agnes Russell as well. I know there was a special bond between them. Love never dies. To my brother Sonny who has shared a lifetime with Joan, that love will last forever. Joan was absolutely wonderful in every way. We have shared many family gatherings through the years, and always so much fun. I loved her laugh! We had some silly times where we actually shed tears. Such happy times. She was always a pleasure to be with. The love of her life was her family. She was an excellent mother and wife to my brother. She taught them values which she lived by,and was very proud of them. Family greatly mattered to Joan. It was easy to like Joan...nice personality, kind, caring and so much more. A very special lady. We have been very fortunate to have been able to share so much of Joan' life, creating memories forever. She will be dearly missed, but in our hearts forever. May you all find some comfort in knowing that we are sharing your loss also. Take care of each other during this trying time. Love to you all, Aunt Nancy and Uncle Artie.

Joan was a wonderful , kind and a special woman . Being an aunt to me was special enough, but she was a bit more to me that. Growing up and going to school with her girls as a young child, she reared me as one of her own- as least it felt that way. She was like a second mother...one that I could count on to be there if I needed her.
Now she is with her youngest daughter Lynn and heaven is adorned with a new angel . Peace has come and love will be everlasting.
God bless Uncle Sonny and the girls....my thoughts and prayers go out to you all .
May the coming days be comforting knowing Joan`s love for her family was the greatest gift to ever be given and will last a lifetime.

Joan was one of the kindest and most humble person I have ever known. Being one of her nieces and growing up with her daughters I was fortunate to experience all her loving ways for many years. She was always there when you needed her advice,,,to me she was practically a second mother. Even though I have not seen her in many years, I thought of her quite often and missed her smile. Now she can finally reunite with her daughter Lynn and enjoy that nice cup of coffee with all the other angels....love you always auntie!! Blessings and my sympathy to Uncle Sonny and the girls....lots of love from Pam Capozziello

My heart breaks for your loss but I am so grateful to have had Joan in my life. She was like an Aunt to me and will forever be missed. I can still hear her soft laughter whenever we reminisced about our camping trips. Love to you all and may God give you strength to get through the next few days.
