Joan Frances Sprenger

Joan Frances Sprenger, a longtime resident of Warrenville, Illinois, was born on July 24, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and passed away on August 12, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois. Joan was a loving daughter to the late Jean M. and Eugene J. Wiemeyer, mother to Christian (Jessica) and Nicole (Joshua), grandmother to Everest, sister to Jan, Dutch (Cheryl), and Kurt, beloved cousin, aunt, and friend to many.

Joan grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended McNicholas High School class of 1965. She loved art and was talented in graphic design. In later years, Joan dedicated herself to the field of healthcare as a caregiver and provided compassionate support to individuals that required assistance with daily living activities. Joan pursued her passion of caring for others and became a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

Throughout her life, Joan traveled to India and was dedicated to her meditation group where she became a vegetarian, met many of her lifelong friends, and learned about finding spirituality within.

Joan loved nature and cared about the environment. In her free time, she grew an organic garden, and made delicious meals for all to enjoy.

Joan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered - for the love she shared with her family and friends, her gift for gardening, her adventurous spirit, and her joy in cooking for loved ones, turning simple recipes into treasured memories.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 1:00-3:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. A celebration of Joan's life will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
