Joan M. Zorza, 92, of Marquette, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at UP Health System-Marquette.
She was born June 11, 1931, in Marquette, a daughter of the late George and Agnes (Paquette) Gregorich. She attended Bishop Baraga High School and was a lifelong area resident.
On October 8, 1949 she married Calvin O. Zorza at St. Peter Cathedral.
Joan and Cal owned and operated Cal's Party Store from 1970 to 2002 before passing it on to the next generation of their family who continued the tradition of providing "Cal Care" to their customers.
Her interests included trips to Las Vegas and visiting local casinos.
She is survived by her children, Lynn L'Huillier of Marquette, Sharon (Mike) Bonanni of Marquette, Gregory (Kathy) Zorza of Gwinn, Joel (Gail) Zorza of Marquette, Bonnie (Bill) McCabe of Marquette, David (Mindy) Zorza of Marquette and Chris (Elizabeth) Zorza of Gladstone; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe (Judy) Gregorich of Marquette, Judy Sherbinow of Wisconsin, Nancy Malvasio of Missouri, Sara "Sally" Gregorich of Marquette, Andrew Gregorich of California, Ernest (Judy) Gregorich of Ishpeming, Thomas (Marie) Gregorich of Marquette and Mary (Marvin) Mahaffey of Marquette; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cal in 2017; siblings, George Gregorich, John Gregorich, Michael Gregorich, Marie Fortin, Gretchen Thompson and Helene Reynolds; and son-in-law, Vern L'Huillier.
A private graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to Northwoods Air Lifeline or Bay Cliff Health Camp.
