Joane Chavero, 31, of Lane City, passed away suddenly from injuries sustained in an automotive accident on July 4, 2023. She was born on December 22, 1991, in Wharton, Texas to Maria Merino and the late Juan Chavero.
Joane was raised in Wharton where she graduated from Wharton High School in 2010. She was accepted into the dental assistant program and completed those courses. Joane enjoyed being a stay at home mother to her children. She enjoyed singing and dancing, arts and crafts, and soft ball. She was well known as a loving mother to her children and very active in their lives. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Chavero.
Joane is survived by her mother, Maria Merino, husband, John Castillo, Jr., daughters, Madison Bentancur, Araceli Gallegos, Emily Bentancur, son, Anthony Rey Chavero, bonus children, Anzley Castillo, Reyli Castillo, Chrisitan Castillo and Jace Castillo; sisters, Cesilia Chavero and fiancée, Antonio Flores, Rosie Chavero and fiancée, Romeo Flores and Miranda Chavero, brother, Jesse Merino and wife, Lisa and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on July 11, 2023 after 6pm at Wharton Funeral home with the rosary recited at 7 pm. Funeral Mass and rite of committal will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10 am at Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
