JoAnn Booth, age 84, died January 4, 2026 at Magnolia Terrace. She was born on July 21, 1941, in Dearborn, Michigan, to the late Robert and Rose (Birdzack) Chambers. She married Alfred Booth on May 8, 1964 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 2025.
JoAnn worked for many years as a bookkeeper at the former Murphy Mart and Ames stores and also owned Cross Stitch Depot in Galion. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galion. She enjoyed traveling with Alfred in their camper across the country to visit all 50 states and also traveling around the world. She was a member of the Rock Club in Arizona where she lived for 25 years. She enjoyed cross stitching and crafts, playing bingo and her dogs.
She is survived by her son, Mike (Tabatha) Booth, grandson Andrew Booth and siblings, Charles (Karen) Chambers, Jean (Wayne) George, Mary (Sam) Shirley, Donna Galentine and Betty (Bill) Houser, brother-in-law Tim Burns, sisters-in-law Barb and Marie Chambers and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings: Eva Burns, John Chambers, Rich Chambers and Joe Chambers and brother-in-law John Galentine and sister-in-law Shelly Chambers.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday January 7, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday January 8, 2026 with Pastor Christine Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Crawford County Memory Gardens, Crestline.
