JoAnn Foster was born July 10, 1934 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Nally Otis and Stella Victoria (Gault) Bryant.  JoAnn was raised and educated in Des Moines and graduated early from East High School in January of 1953.  On November 1, 1958, JoAnn was united in marriage to George Foster in Cromwell, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Creston and were blessed with 3 children:  Terry, Troy and Tracy.

JoAnn was never one to sit idly and she was always busy with the kids or working.  She worked for more than 40 years for the Creston Community Schools as a Crossing Guard at the Lincoln School.  Over the years, she met many young children who still remember her today.

Preceding JoAnn in death was her husband, George Foster on June 19, 2023; her parents; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law:  Maxine (husband Bert) Strong; Mildred (husband Bob) Bellis; and Nina (husband Kenny) Norman; her brother and sister-in-law, Carl (wife Mary) Bryant; and a grandchild, Pryce Creighton.

JoAnn is survived by her children:  Terry (wife Joy) Foster of Casey, Iowa; Troy (wife Virginia) Foster of Creston, Iowa and Tracy (husband Daniel) Creighton of Grimes, Iowa; 5 grandchildren:  Brook (Rich) Lilly; Dustin (Tricia) Foster; Brandi Creighton; Taylor (Chase) Maynes and Quynn Foster.  JoAnn is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren:  Makenna (Joe) Vais; Louden Foster; Zane Lilly; Ashlynn Foster; Hayden Foster and Ellie Maynes; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Bennett Vais.
